In essence, you are what you eat and, as we’ve heard ad infinitum, what you eat and how you exercise makes a helluva difference in your life – and your sex life. The cornerstone is “natural.” And yet, Dr. Steelsmith says there are millions of women who feel unable to make the changes they need to regain their sexual health. And she’s right. And this book can be a big help.

The first thing we like is that Dr. Laurie Steelsmith is a naturopathic physician specializing in women’s health and this book exemplifies her knowledge and passion. It should be on every couple’s bookshelf. It’s chock-full of not just good foods for good sex but a breakdown of ingredients and supplements that make for healthy living and better sex – everything from nutrition and aphrodisiacs to erectile dysfunction and exercise.
The Great Sex Diet
The book sets out all you need to know to create your own “great sex diet,” including the “Dynamic Dozen: Super-libido foods to enhance your great sex diet.” They list 12 of them, some are considered aphrodisiacs, some not. All are great for healthy living, which, in turn, makes for healthy sex, which, in turn, makes for a healthy relationship. Here are a few of the 12 – the “seeds” of a better sex life.
- Chia seeds
- Pumpkin seeds (and pumpkin pie is good for penile blood flow)
- Lots of special vegetables
- Green tea
