1-of-top-25 TEDx TALKS: “Orgasms”
Ten [funny] things you didn’t know about orgasms
(TEDx TALK: 16 minutes well-invested)
Sexual intercourse has the potential to treat intractable hiccups – Canadian medical journal.
This is one of the top 25 TED talks of all time: Ten things you didn’t know about orgasm by Mary Roach.
Hilarious. Insightful. Informative. And a great conversation starter with your partner or … with any dying-of-sexual-curiosity teenager. Or pig farmers (have to watch the Talk to get it) – if you know any.
Mary Roach, bestselling author of Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex is a delight to listen to – well-informed, witty and completely at ease talking about sex – something every woman should emulate. Because half the women don’t orgasm during sex and 2 out of 3 women have faked orgasm (see Sex by the Numbers).
Everybody has to get a helluva lot better at this orgasm thing, and it starts with knowledge and communications, and a lot less shame and a little more humor. Mary Roach provides a good dose of what’s needed.
And her book, Bonk, which covers “what happens, and why, and how to make it happen better,” should be on every loving couple’s bookshelf or nightstand.
“Do you know why Dr. Kinsey, 300 men, two sheets and a movie camera all got together in a room with a Persian carpet?”
Watch this TED Talk, make notes and start a conversation. Maybe try the Danish pig story. Or the answer to the above Kinsey project. Well-worth 16 minutes.
