Everybody is talking and reading about the vagina …

Podcasts, videos, books are giving women everywhere an opportunity to learn about something that matters a great deal to happiness and fulfillment in their lives.

Previously, we wrote a book review about The Vagina Bible by Dr. Jen Gunter and we want to follow up, and keep up, with the ongoing conversation that is happening everywhere. Because it’s that  important! Dr. Gunter is talking on TV, radio and podcasts and we want to help spread the word because this knowledge is not only an excellent resource, it’s a prerequisite to exploring and discovering your sexual fulfillment – which has a lot to do with your pursuit of happiness in life.

It is amazing – and unfortunate – how many women do not know most of what’s in this “Bible.” Like we’ve said before, it’s like trying to fly a plane when you don’t know much about how a plane flies.

For your reading, listening and viewing pleasure

The book is a must-read, but to get you started, below are two videos (3 and 9 minutes), plus a great podcast with Hilary and Sandra at The Quick & The Dirty (51 minutes). This just might get you to be, what Dr. Gunter calls, “a tourist” of your own body and begin to add to your sexual self-enlightenment.

First, Jen Gunter is ‘just what the doctor order’ when it comes to stripping and ripping the veneer off of centuries of shame and deep-seeded ignorance about sex – especially for, and about, women.

The ignorance surrounding the vagina reminds me of the public ignorance surrounding nuclear energy. We know very little about it, other than the dark scary part, and don’t bother to learn much, and as in nuclear energy, more than two-thirds of us live in a bubble of ignorant fear. We might not want to be nuclear specialists but why do we not want to be specialists about ourselves, our bodies, our anatomy, our sexual needs? It’s baffling. Thankfully, knowledgeable people are managing our nuclear assets but there is only one person who can manage your sexual assets. You! Ignorance certainly isn’t bliss.

Don’t leave it to celebrity and corporate predators

Hundreds of millions of dollars are made off of women’s ignorance by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and other commercial peddlers even though none of it is necessary, none of it works and all of it can have serious side effects.

Don’t steam your vagina … it is a self cleaning oven. – Dr. Jen Gunter

Want a healthy vagina and good sex life, be an autodidact. And follow experts like Dr. Gunter. She is bright, knowledgeable, candid and funny. Follow her on Twitter – and stop following Paltrow, she can’t be trusted.

In the first, short video (3:41) Dr. Gunter debunks numerous sex myths. Watch her break into laughter at the statement that Gwyneth Paltrow is “a trusted health professional.”

“A penis is not a metric of female satisfaction.” – Dr. Jen Gunter

Dr. Jen’s second video (9 min), is an interview on Cityline that goes further at debunking people like Paltrow (“the couture of snake oil”) and explains the risk of not knowing more about your anatomy and sexual-self.
